This design is inspired by a traditional Chinese song I’ve loved for many years — Pine Smoke Ink by WINKYI.
The lyrics describe: "Light a wisp of pine smoke, its fragrance lingers and does not fade."
That’s when I first learned about a special kind of ink, called pine smoke ink.
It’s a black ink without gloss, used for painting mountains and rivers, creating a sense of vastness in the distant landscape.
Pine smoke ink is even praised as "two ounces of gold for one ounce of ink."
Countless scholars and poets used ink to express their hearts and document the world, leaving behind timeless masterpieces.
When new Chinese style meets the Ma Mian (horse-face) skirt, the fusion creates this design.
The color scheme is centered around black, white, and gray, with a slightly translucent gray outer garment that flows gently,
as if peering through the misty ink wash, faint shadows emerge.
The collar and cuffs are accented with jacquard, and the tie closure adds an effortless, relaxed touch.
The design blends the real and the imaginary, offering rich layers.
The inner piece is an asymmetrical watercolor print camisole, made from acetate fabric that feels soft against the skin and resists wrinkles.
The back features an elastic design, providing a comfortable fit with great flexibility.
The main fabric of the Ma Mian skirt is gray, firm and structured, with seven pairs of slightly tapered pleats.
The color-block jacquard is the design highlight, with pine forest patterns from light to dark, as if surrounded by mist, adding a unique touch.
The entire set gives an airy, stylish look, slimming the figure while offering a balance of modern coolness and traditional martial arts charm.
It’s the perfect choice for those looking for a stylish, chivalric vibe with a touch of national heritage.
