This set, Freehand Style, is inspired by the expressive techniques of traditional Chinese ink painting.
The colors in Chinese ink painting are imbued with Taoist philosophical thought,
“Taoist scholars believe that within the extremes of ‘black’ and ‘white,’ the universe is contained.”
Ink wash expressionism blends the world into ink, with infinite depth and endless imagination.
The dress is redesigned from the fashion piece of the Southern Song Dynasty, the Huang Sheng Mu Song Tun. The Song tun has been reimagined as a dress, keeping the cat-ear triangle pieces and the left-right split. The open-back strap crossover combines three-dimensional tailoring, creating a refreshing summer feel with retro fashion, simple and elegant, bold yet not excessive.
The dress features a unified faux-ink wash print, with a bold, unrestrained tone, and layers of subtle gradients. The design is simple yet profound, with colors that blend seamlessly. The ancient-style bustier’s vertical divisions, combined with waist-cinching on both sides, are practical and flattering to the figure. The back waist features abundant pleats, making it easy to wear while emphasizing the body shape.
The outer jacket comes in two lengths: the short version is neat and sharp, with a sense of martial world energy. The long version is cool and carefree, flowing with the wind and naturally exuding a celestial aura.
Wearing this set, Freehand Style, while strolling through the bustling streets and alleys of the city, you remain poised, dignified, and become your own stylish icon.
